Helping Others Before Ourselves

The Kutztown HOBOs are a group of 30 members from Kutztown, and the surrounding communities. To be a HOBO you must be a man of strong character and have a genuine love for helping your community. You also have to love a good time!

The Kutztown HOBO organization was founded in 1965 during Kutztown's sesquicentennial celebration. Several other organizations were founded at the time but most have not survived. Originally operating out of a cigar box, the HOBOs endured and grown, due to our commitment to helping others and our wonderful membership.

Our mission is to provide support to our local communities. We do so by monetary donations and volunteerism. We frequently donated to  families affected by illness, local schools and food banks, as well as many other worthwhile causes. The HOBOs also support our local veterans in numerous ways including a monthly veterans breakfast
